Custom Yacht Construction in Turkey

Steel and aluminium sail and motor yachts, 18m to 70m (59 ft to 230 ft), built to class in Bodrum

The Yard

A Custom Yacht Builder in Turkey

Puravida Yachts offers custom yacht construction in Turkey in the most literal sense: every yacht we build is a one-off, drawn and engineered around a single owner's brief, from 18m to 70m (59 ft to 230 ft), under sail or power.

İlker Vardar founded the company in 2004, and since 2021 we have built from our current yard in İçmeler, Bodrum. For two decades we have chosen to build few yachts, a path that has taken the yard to Seven, a 46m (151 ft) RINA-classed hybrid sailing yacht launched in 2025.

As a custom yacht builder in Bodrum, we keep the disciplines that define a yacht close to the build. Naval architecture is in-house, led by naval architect and marine engineer Abdullah Fırat, and so is interior design, led by interior designer Özge Van. Meet our team.

What We Build

Sailing Yachts, Motor Yachts and Superyachts

We build 18m to 70m (59 ft to 230 ft) custom yachts under sail or power, from sub-30m motor yachts to steel superyachts.

Custom sailing yachts. Our sailing yachts are built for owners who intend to cover real distance, and for anyone looking to build a sailing yacht in Turkey, Seven is the reference: a 46m (151 ft) ketch with a steel hull, hybrid propulsion and a rig designed within Panamax height restrictions. The 40m Concept continues that line as a steel sailing yacht platform, now in development.

Custom motor yachts. Our motor yachts run from the 18.5m (61 ft) Puravida, built as a series of four, to the 21.3m (70 ft) aluminium Vida 70, now in development. Each is engineered around its owner's cruising grounds, range and speed.

Superyachts. Every superyacht is a custom project from the first 3D model. Superyacht construction follows the same process as every build at the yard, on a longer schedule.

Bodrum is also the home of the traditional Turkish gulet, and gulet construction can be discussed on the same one-off basis as any other commission.

Hull Materials

Steel and Aluminium Hulls

We build in steel, aluminium and composite, and the material is specified per project. As a Turkish yacht builder working in all three, we recommend the material only once we understand how the yacht will be used.

The choice is made with the owner. The deciding questions are how you intend to use the yacht, how far she needs to range and how she should perform. Steel suits long-range displacement yachts where strength and comfort underway matter most; aluminium is lighter and favours higher speeds and shallower drafts.

Yachts and projects from our yard show all three. Seven and the 40m Concept are steel sailing yachts, and the 40m Concept's hull is built the same way as Seven's. The Vida 70 is a 21.3m (70 ft) aluminium motor yacht with a 1.45m draft: a strong, lightweight hull able to reach anchorages that deeper-draft yachts cannot. The 18.5m (61 ft) Puravida, built as a series of four, has a composite hull.

Propulsion

Electric, Hybrid and Conventional Propulsion

Propulsion is specified per project, to the owner's choice: electric, hybrid or conventional.

Seven shows what a hybrid sailing yacht builder has to get right. Her hybrid diesel-electric system pairs four 240 kW electric motors with three 300 kW generators and a 480 kWh lithium-iron (LiFePO4) battery bank, allowing 10–12 hours of silent, emission-free operation at anchor or under electric motor, with a maximum speed of 15 knots.

The 40m Concept has no fixed answer. Her owner will choose electric, hybrid or conventional propulsion, and we will engineer the system around that decision.

The Build

From Design to Delivery

Every build follows the same path, and one project team is accountable throughout for performance, cost, time, quality and customer satisfaction.

Design & Engineering

Your vision becomes a set of 3D models, and the hull is designed from the model. Engineering calculations and testing then cover speed, stability and efficiency. Naval architecture is carried out in-house; on some projects we also work with external naval architecture firms.

Hull & Superstructure

Construction begins with manufacture planning, which sets out how the hull and superstructure will be built. The work then moves to metalworking and welding, where the engineering calculations become structure.

Fit-Out & Systems Integration

Hardware is installed, then finishing and final outfitting bring the interior and deck to completion, with full integration of the yacht's systems. Interior design is in-house, with external studios on some projects: Seven's interior was designed by K Interiors, Geneva.

Launch, Sea Trials & Delivery

The yacht is christened with champagne at her launch, with the owner and family present. Harbour and sea trials follow, validating the engineering calculations made at the design stage. After the final touches, the yacht is delivered.

Following Your Build

As owner, you appoint an Owner's Representative or Technical Manager who is embedded in the project, based at or regularly visiting the yard. Your representative works directly with the shipyard and project teams on quality, technical integrity, scope and schedule. Media updates issued by the yard supplement their reporting, and you and your family attend key milestones, including the launch.

The 40m Concept: A Steel Sailing Yacht Platform

The 40m Concept is a 40m (131 ft) sailing yacht now in development, with a steel hull built the same way as Seven's. She is a platform rather than a finished design: her propulsion (electric, hybrid or conventional), her layout and her interior are all customised to her owner.

Delivery for the 40m platform is 27 months, against 36 months for a fully custom build of 40m and above.

Classification

Built to Class

Every yacht is built to the classification her owner and her flag require.

We build to CE, Lloyd's Register, RINA, ABS and Bureau Veritas rules, and to MCA standards. Seven, a 46m (151 ft) hybrid sailing yacht, is classed to RINA and is the clearest measure of our work as a RINA classed yacht builder.

Class matters beyond the build itself, because building to class is a prerequisite for registering the yacht. That is why the classification society belongs in the brief, alongside size, material and propulsion.

The yard's management systems follow ISO 9001 for quality and ISO 14001 for environmental management.

Handover, Registration and Warranty

Handover takes place at our facility in Bodrum, where the yacht has been built and trialled. Delivery to your home port is not part of the standard scope.

Flag and registration are the owner's responsibility and are managed by the owner's team, with Puravida Yachts assisting. Yachts built at our yard fly flags including Malta, the Cayman Islands, the Cook Islands, Turkey and the United Kingdom. Registration itself sits outside the standard build scope.

Every yacht carries a 2-year craftsmanship warranty, with lifetime support from the yard that built her.

Questions

Custom Yacht Construction FAQ

What sizes of yacht do you build?

We build custom yachts from 18m to 70m (59 ft to 230 ft), under sail or power. Hull material (steel, aluminium or composite) is specified per project with the owner. Our completed work extends to Seven, a 46m (151 ft) RINA-classed hybrid sailing yacht, and our 40m Concept sailing yacht platform is in development.

What size yachts do you build, in feet?

We build custom yachts from 59 ft to 230 ft (18m to 70m), under sail or power. Seven, our flagship sailing yacht, is 151 ft (46m); the 40m Concept sailing yacht platform is 131 ft; and the Vida 70 motor yacht is 70 ft (21.3m).

Can you build a 40m sailing yacht in Turkey?

Yes. The 40m Concept is a 40m (131 ft) steel sailing yacht platform now in development, with a hull built the same way as Seven's. Because she is a platform rather than a fixed design, her layout, interior and propulsion (electric, hybrid or conventional) are customised to her owner, with delivery in 27 months.

How long does it take to build a custom yacht?

Delivery time depends on length. Yachts of 18–24m (59–79 ft) take 12 months and yachts of 25–39m (82–128 ft) take 24 months. Our 40m (131 ft) platform, the 40m Concept, takes 27 months, and fully custom yachts of 40–70m (131–230 ft) take 36 months. The final schedule for your yacht is set per project, once the design and specification are agreed.

How much does a custom yacht cost to build?

Every yacht is priced to its own specification, so we give price guidance on request once we understand your brief. Our one published reference is the Vida 70, a 21.3m (70 ft) aluminium motor yacht, at approximately EUR 1.9 million. The final figure for any build varies with the level of customisation the owner chooses.

Should my yacht be built in steel or aluminium?

We build in steel, aluminium and composite, and the material is specified per project, decided with you based on how you intend to use the yacht, the range you need and the performance you expect. Steel suits long-range displacement yachts where strength and comfort underway matter most; aluminium is lighter and favours higher speeds and shallower drafts.

Do you build hybrid and electric yachts?

Yes. Propulsion is specified per project to the owner's choice: electric, hybrid or conventional. Seven, our 46m (151 ft) sailing yacht, runs a hybrid diesel-electric system that allows 10–12 hours of silent, emission-free operation. For the 40m Concept, the owner chooses the propulsion and we engineer the system around that decision.

Which classification societies do you build to?

We build to CE, Lloyd's Register, RINA, ABS and Bureau Veritas rules, and to MCA standards. Seven is classed to RINA. The society is chosen for each project, and building to class is a prerequisite for registering the yacht. Our management systems follow ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

Can I follow the build as it progresses?

Yes. You appoint an Owner's Representative or Technical Manager who is embedded in the project, based at or regularly visiting the yard, and who works directly with our shipyard and project teams on quality, technical integrity, scope and schedule. Our media updates supplement their reporting, and you and your family attend key milestones, including the launch.

Where is the yacht handed over, and who handles registration?

Handover takes place at our facility in Bodrum; delivery to your home port is not part of the standard scope. Flag and registration are the owner's responsibility, managed by your team with our assistance. Yachts we have built fly flags including Malta, the Cayman Islands, the Cook Islands, Turkey and the United Kingdom.

What warranty comes with a Puravida yacht?

Every yacht we build carries a 2-year craftsmanship warranty and lifetime support from our yard in Bodrum. The warranty covers the craftsmanship of the build; lifetime support means your relationship with the shipyard does not end when the warranty period does, and you keep a direct line to the team that built your yacht.
